Bishop Unified School District “Pennies for Patients” campaign to support the Leukemia Lymphoma Society is a two-week campaign culminating with the “Shine on the Sierra” Luminary Walk for Cancer Awareness at the Bishop High School track, Friday, March 14th.

luminary walk 1

Registration begins at 6:15 pm where you may pick up your luminary bag for a $5 (or more) donation. You may walk in honor of someone, in memory of someone, or just to show your support. You may also take the opportunity to become a Bone Marrow donor at this event.

The evening will begin at 7:00 with a 5 minute “Survivor” walk to celebrate their success with their battle with cancer. All walkers will then join the survivors and walk until 7:45 pm.

Closing ceremonies will take place from 7:45-8:00pm where you will hear the results from the Blood Drive, Bone Marrow Registry and highest collectors of the BUSD. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society AND our local Eastern Sierra Breast Cancer Alliance.

Everyone is welcome – it’s an all age, family and stroller friendly event. Let’s come together as a community of giving & caring people to make this an evening to remember.
