Tuesday afternoon, Bishop Fire Fighters responded to a report of a small brush fire burning along the Owens River.

With high winds capable of spreading the fire, the volunteers rushed to the scene on the south side of the Owens River. The fire was believed to be burning to the east of the bridge on Five Bridges Road near Desert Aggregates.

On scene firefighters found a small 20 foot by 20 foot burned area that was smoldering but had no visible flames. Bishop Fire, Cal Fire and the Inyo National Forest fire fighters responded and quickly took care of the situation.
