Andrew won a new set of skis and bindings of his choice donated by Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. Andrew and 13 other locals were recognized as Ambassadors by the Chamber for their exceptional guest service and hospitality. The Ambassador Recognition Program was launched in April to reward and thank locals who provide outstanding service in their jobs or off the clock. The Chamber defined Outstanding service as outgoing friendliness combined with exceptional helpfulness or service. In April 7 members of the Chamber of Commerce Board were selected to be “Secret Shoppers”. They prowled the town looking for outstanding service. According to the chamber spokesman, Jack Copeland, “We often hear about poor service in the community yet we all know great service providers, people who routinely provide friendly, fast, and high quality service. We know businesses where outstanding service is the standard. It’s time we acknowledge the people and the businesses who get it right. They are Ambassadors for our community. They create our good reputation and we owe them a debt of thanks.”

Copeland went on to thank the sponsors of this recognition program: the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Mammoth Lakes Tourism, The Chamber of Commerce, Footloose Sports, Kittredge Sports, and Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. Copeland said the Chamber will launch a summer Ambassador Recognition and Secret Shopper Program in July and August.
