California has the second highest fatality rate nationwide, involving drivers between the ages of 15-20. To help combat this growing problem, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) is conducting a Start Smart presentation for teens and their parents. This program is specifically geared toward reducing collisions and injuries involving teen drivers. This innovative program is called “Start Smart, Driving Smart to Stay Safe”.

Who: Officer Anne Morin and Officer Dennis Showley, along with other members of the CHP.

What: Start Smart Campaign to raise awareness regarding senseless collisions involving newly licensed drivers.

When: Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 5:00 P.M.

Where: Cerro Coso Community College – Mammoth Campus, Room 206
101 College Parkway, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546

This course is offered free of charge to all drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 and their parents. Please e-mail [email protected] or call the CHP Bridgeport office at (760) 932-7995 by September 5, 2014, to reserve a space.

This class includes graphic video images and still photographs of actual collision scenes.

What: Start Smart Campaign to raise awareness regarding senseless collisions involving newly licensed drivers.

When: Tuesday September 16th, 2014, at 6:00 pm.

Where: Bishop Area CHP Office

This course is offered free of charge to all drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 and their parents. Please register at the Bishop CHP Office by September 15th, 2014.
