News release

On December 13, 2017, Inyo County will be coordinating a drill as part of an annual Statewide Medical and Health Exercise.

This event will provide a forum for Inyo County to support and interface with healthcare providers, emergency management, and response partners as part of an exercise funded by Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Hospital Preparedness Program grants.

The scenario for the exercise involves a fictitious wildfire located in a wooded area between See Vee Lane and Pioneer Lane in Bishop, which prompts residential evacuations, along with the evacuation of health facilities in that area.

This is a Functional Exercise that focuses on health care system preparedness, response, and recovery. While much of the exercise play will occur in facility command centers, members of the public may notice evacuation drill activities at some Bishop-area health care facilities the morning of December 13.
