The Inyo Mono Advocates For Community Action, a local non-profit, has scheduled a summertime food drive this Thursday and Friday.

Due to tough economic times, IMACA staff reports seeing a much larger demand for emergency food assistance. Many locals have found themselves out of work or living on very fixed incomes, and are struggling to make ends meet, staff reports. To help relieve this situation, IMACA asks people to bring in canned or dry food to their pantry at 224.South Main Street in Bishop, across the street from JC Penny, on Thursday and Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. IMACA especially needs food with protein like tuna, chicken, beans, and peanut butter.
