Press release

Mammoth Lakes, Calif. – Mammoth Lakes Repertory Theatre is proud to welcome back the Tahoe Adventure Film Festival (TAFF) for two shows only on Saturday, March 11 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for this annual event at Edison Theatre where the industry’s best adventure filmmakers show off their latest adventure sports films hosted by festival creator and swashbuckler, Todd Offenbacher.

The festival is an extension of Offenbacher’s passionate nature and life of adventure full of challenges that helps him excel in all areas of life with greater clarity.

“I’ve traveled the globe to ski, climb, and explore where I’ve met so many likeminded people living the same dream,” Offenbacher said. “This festival comes from my heart and soul, and represents the collective passion and lessons learned to inspire everyone to pursue their dreams with gusto.”

This year, the festival will include edits that highlight the lifestyle of the action and adventure athlete. Several films delve into the mindset of the adventurer and how each lives their life to the fullest. The film “Snow Flake” reveals the passion of one of Switzerland’s happiest ski bums. A sneak peek of “Dirt Bag Climber” is a film Offenbacher has been directly involved in for 15 years. The film follows the life and commitment of 93-year-old American climber Fred Beckey. The full-length version will be released in spring of 2017.

TAFF celebrates the adventure sports community with recently created films of daring exploits and epic adventures in some of the most remote places and harsh conditions that test the human spirit. Filmmakers capture the power and intensity of skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, rock climbing, surfing, mountain biking, BASE jumping and other heart pounding sports that feed our addiction to adventure.  Many of the segments are special edits that include preview footage of films not yet released.

TAFF will host two shows on Saturday, March 11, at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 online and can be purchased at www.MammothLakesRepertoryTheatre.org. Tickets at the door will be $15.
