The race is on in the City of Bishop

March 4, City of Bishop voters will decide who fills two seats on the City Council. Friday before noon, a third candidate filed,

Jim Ellis of Bishop

making it an official race.

Incumbents Jeff Griffiths and Bruce Dishion had filed their papers early on, and it was known that Jim Ellis of Bishop had also taken out papers. Friday morning, we saw Ellis filing to run for office at the Bishop City Clerk’s desk.

When asked why he wanted to run, Ellis said that the community has given him a lot over the years and he wants to give back. He said for his children and for the community he would like to see things grow and develop.
