Last week Mammoth Town officials urged people to keep their cars locked after a string of thefts from unlocked vehicles in the Sierra Valley Sites. While the string of thefts originally appeared to be confined to one neighborhood, now Mammoth Police report that the thefts from unlocked vehicles appear to be spread all over town.

CDs and iPods, and other easily removed items are being reported stolen from unlocked cars. Police report that a purse was stolen out a vehicle near the Village. Another reported theft occurred at the Big Wood Condos.

All these crimes appear to have occurred at night and town officials urge residents to lock their unoccupied vehicles.
