A chance to dress up and, well, be somebody else! Halloween. Children all over the Eastern Sierra have come up with ideas to dress up Friday night as they go in search of candy.

At an early event, kids got into the costume thing at the annual Town of Mammoth Lakes Halloween Carnival at Canyon Lodge. Our Cleland Hoff met some cute and scarey goblins. She also talked to Mammoth Tourism and Recreation Director Danna Stroud, who said the annual event drew lots of kids and carried out successful games.

For some, the Town Halloween Carnival was dress rehearsal for Halloween in the Trails. That happens on Halloween, this Friday. Trick-or-Treaters and their families are invited to support Trails homeowners and their annual event.

Lots of Mammoth’s younger set, some really young, showed up for the fun and games this week.

We decided our favorite hobgoblin was Mono Sheriff Rick Scholl handsomely disguised as a pirate! Not of the Caribbean but at least of Canyon Lodge.

Trick-or-Treat for all of the Eastern Sierra – Friday at dusk. Local law enforcement ask that you watch out for kids crossing streets. They also ask that parents caution the kids to look both ways before crossing streets.
