Mammoth Police have confirmed two heroin overdoses within a week. In one case, a young woman died. Narcotics agents quickly investigated and said they arrested the man who sold heroin to the woman who died.

In a news release, the police said that on Friday, April 15th, police officers and paramedics responded to a radio call in the Old Mammoth area and discovered a deceased 21-year-old woman. Officers said that evidence at the scene indicated that she had died from a heroin overdose. Agents from the Mono Narcotics Enforecment Team followed up and said they identified the dealer who supplied the heroin to the victim.

On April 20th, officers arrested Kyle Harmon-Townsend of Mammoth Lakes and booked him on numerous drug charges. OFficers had served a search warrant on the man’s home. They said they found heroin and other drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Then, on April 21st at around 10:30 pm, Mammoth Police officers and paramedics responded to the Mammoth Mountain Inn where a 22-year-old woman from Southern California was found unconscious. Paramedics revived her and transported her to Mammoth Hospital.

Officers said their investigation revealed that the woman is a heroin user and had recently ingested heroin. Police said the investigation revealed that the overdose victim transported her drugs from Southern California and did not obtain them from the dealer who supplied the deceased woman.
