The sentencing of Sally Symons has been pushed back to April 4.

The former Chief Executive Officer for the Tri-County Fairgrounds pled guilty to misappropriation of government funds and is facing restitution of $9,860, up to 270 days in County jail and five years of probation. According to District Attorney Tom Hardy, the probation report was a day or two late, and “both sides have the right to have a probation report received five court days before a sentencing date to give to review and respond.”

The Dawndee Rossy trial is still on schedule to resume March 23 in Independence. Rossy is charged with multiple counts, the primary one being embezzlement of $1.5 million during her tenure with the Inyo County Department of Health and Human Services.

Her defense attorney, David Evans, has filed his objections to inclusion of the prosecution’s 500 pieces of evidence. Hardy will be filing his response today and appointed Judge Philip Argento will rule next Wednesday.
