Urdi Named to California Travel Association Board of Directors 

Mammoth Lakes Tourism Executive Director Joins Exclusive Team of

Travel and Tourism Industry Professionals

Mammoth Lakes, Calif. (June 10, 2013)—Mammoth Lakes Tourism Executive Director John Urdi was recently elected to the board of directors of the California Travel Association and will begin his term at the upcoming August meeting.

Urdi joins a board of directors comprised of representatives from some of California’s most iconic destinations travel companies and attractions such as; Disneyland Resort, Santa Barbara, Sunset Magazine , Cirque du Soleil, San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, and AAA.

Ted Molter, Director of Marketing at the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park welcomed Urdi to the board this past week saying, “As a CalTravel Board Member, John will join others in cultivating a deeper understanding and appreciation of California travel and tourism while advocating for the California travel industry. Through advocacy and collaboration John will demonstrate exceptional leadership while representing a wide range of California travel industry partners.”

Molter went on to say, “Most importantly, John will be helping shape the future of our business in California and enhancing the value of travel and tourism for more than 800,000 citizens who make their living welcoming guests and delivering an amazing California experience every day.”

Urdi, who has lived in Mammoth Lakes for three years, said “I welcome this opportunity to be part of developing the bigger picture in one of the world’s top tour and travel destinations.  The State of California is an amazing place with so much natural beauty, history, beaches, theme parks and attractions and of course skiing, that I look forward to this position on the board of directors”.  Urdi also sits on boards with The US Travel Association and The National Destinations Council.
