(Press Release) In April of 2013 the Bishop Police Department initiated an investigation into the alleged embezzlement of funds from Inyo-Mono Body Shop. Since that time, Investigators from Bishop PD examined records as far back as 2005. In the process, they have poured over thousands of pages of financial records, executed numerous search warrants, collected evidence and interviewed dozens of witnesses.
As of today, the Department has concluded the investigation. Based on the evidence gathered, Investigators have determined that over the course of several years, in excess of $200,000 was embezzled from the Business. At this point, the report will be forwarded to the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General for review.
The Bishop Police Department believes that probable cause exists to charge Dolores Kay “Lola” Marsh, a former employee of Inyo-Mono Body Shop, with numerous crimes. Those crimes include multiple counts of Burglary, Grand Theft, Embezzlement, Concealing Stolen Property, Forgery, and Making False Record Entries. As such, the Bishop Police Department has requested that the Attorney General’s Office file these charges against Marsh in the Superior Court of Inyo County.
The Attorney General’s Office has indicated it may take some time for them to examine the case and make a determination on whether or not charges should be filed.

What about the rest of the pending cases floating around the county?
What pending cases?

I suppose this will take as long as the case from Bridgeport, that bank lady took (I believe) 300,000 and is still walking around free as a bird workin in the store there on main street. It is starting to look like crime does indeed pay
Why AG and not DA?
Prior to his appointment to the position of DA, Tom Hardy had been hired to represent Lola Marsh. With him now being the DA, he has to defer to the AG for prosecution.

Wait, I’m confused….was she FINALLY charged or not? They found she embezzled over $200,000.00 and the “Attorney General’s Office has indicated it may take some time for them to examine the case and make a determination on whether or not charges should be filed.” What the??????
The AG has to file the charges.
