The Maturango Museum is looking for volunteers to lead tours through Little
Petroglyph Canyon in China Lake.

On February 29th , at 8am, there will be a Petroglyph Escort and Tour Guide
Training at the Maturango Museum in Ridgecrest. The Little Petroglyph Canyon is
a National Historic Landmark located on federal property at the China Lake Naval
Air Weapons Station located in Ridgecrest.

The required training is all day event and it will cover environmental, security and
administrative issues associated with the tours. After the in-class training, command escorts will take class participants out to Little Petroglyph Canyon as part of their training.

Volunteers are encouraged to dress appropriately with hiking boots or closed
shoes with good tread, sunscreen, hat, food and water, food, and a car that is in
good working condition with a full tank of gas.

Carpooling is required as the number of vehicles allowed out to the site is limited.
Class size is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so register early
as possible.
