A Fish and Game case that involved suspicion of hunting out of season led to a drug arrest by narcotics agents.

Game wardens had stopped Scot Heckethorn, 41 of Lone Pine for suspicion of hunting out of season. Wardens said they discovered drug paraphernalia and drugs in the vehicle that

Heckethorn was driving.

Fish and Game contacted Inyo Narcotic Enforcement Team agents and Sheriff’s deputies. After they booked Heckethorn into the Inyo County Jail, agents and deputies searched his home and said they found 21 firearms, 5 marijuana plants, scales and drug sales paraphernalia.

Heckethorn was booked for possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being a convicted felon in possession of firearms. Agents referred the case to the Inyo District Attorney’s Office.
