“Our decision to exit Mammoth is due to the extreme challenge of operating into this city.

Only the Q400 is equipped with the right navigational aids to land there and we have fewer planes available as we are retiring this aircraft and optimizing our regional flying using the E175 in southern California.

To be clear, the 2017 pilot shortage has no bearing on this decision. Our sister airline Horizon Air hasn’t had a single pilot cancellation due to a pilot shortage since last November. Horizon Air operates 379 daily flights.”
