MAMMOTH LAKES, CA., November 13, 2019 – AmeriGas announced this week the donation of a total of $12,000 to schools in Mono and Inyo, CA, counties as part of its School Days program. The funds can be used to purchase items for any school-related need including books, computers, sports equipment, band equipment, art materials and educational class trips.

The School Days program allows families to bring their AmeriGas propane receipts to participating schools and deposit them into a School Days receipt box. AmeriGas then totals the gallons on the deposited receipts and pays $0.02 per gallon of propane purchased, up to a maximum of $2,000 per year per school. The schools that received $2,000 from the School Days program include Lee Vining High School, Mammoth Elementary School, Mammoth Middle School, Mammoth High School and Sierra High School.

“We are thrilled to be able to give back to both the Mono and Inyo County communities where so many of our customers live, work and raise families,” said Levi Mele, district manager, Mammoth Lakes and Bishop, CA, for AmeriGas. “The School Days program is just one of the many ways that AmeriGas puts our values into action by investing in the things that matter most to our customers.”

The AmeriGas School Days program dates back more than 20 years. Since 2015, AmeriGas has donated over $650,000 to schools across the United States. Schools that wish to participate in the program can contact their local AmeriGas office to enroll.

AmeriGas has more than 20 employees who service Mono and Inyo counties and help provide reliable propane delivery via the only propane pipeline in the region.
