In just two weeks, Bishop Police, with the aid of many other local law enforcement agencies, have zeroed in on the prime suspect for the Bishop Chase Bank robbery on March 17th. Bishop Police Chief Kathleen Sheehan has scheduled a news conference for Friday.

Police Lieutenant Chris Carter said the Chief will offer more details Friday, but he said that an armed robbery warrant has gone out on 49-year-old Steven Craig Wiswell of Benton in Mono County. It is believe both Inyo and Mono law enforcement were instrumental in this development.

Lt. Carter said currently Wiswell’s whereabouts are unknown, but he is wanted in connection with the Chase Bank robbery. The suspect is also believed to be in possession of two hand guns and has reportedly made suicidal remarks, including his interst in “police-assisted suicide.”

Wanted posters have been issued to numerous law enforcement agencies.
