Mono County Assessor Jim Lovett was scheduled for court earlier this month on alleged DUI charges. His appearance was held over for an April court date. Officials have privately and openly stated that Lovett has gone to re-hab.

Lovett had reportedly told his staff that he was “suffering from a disease and would go into treatment.” Other officials have said that Lovett committed to rehabilitation for alcoholism. We have been unable to confirm that with Lovett.

It is known that the Mono Supervisors arranged for Lovett to go into re-hab some months ago as a result of their open complaints about Lovett’s drinking. Lovett had continued to deny a problem although after the setting of his recall election and arrest for DUI, the Assessor reportedly admitted problems.
