A Shoshone man is being held in the Inyo County Jail after he allegedly drove a car through the wall of a home in an attempt to murder his landlord.

Carma Roper with the Inyo Sheriffs Department says that on Sunday, May 10th at 6:00 pm, 59 year old David Eddy was arrested after he intentionally drove a Dodge Magnum into the home of Susan Sorrels and Robert Haines at the Shoshone Trailer Park. Eddy had been upset after he received an eviction notice earlier in the day, Roper reports.

Before Eddy allegedly drove the Dodge through the wall, the Sheriffs Department had received a report that the man had been wandering through the trailer park with a knife stating that he was going to kill everyone, Roper says.

Sheriff officials say that Eddy opted to return to his fifth wheel, deciding not to kill everyone in the trailer park, but rather narrow his focus on eliminating the couple responsible for his eviction. Eddy then got behind the wheel of the 2005 Dodge Magnum, and drove head on into the home of Susan Sorrells and Robert Haines.

As Sorrells and Haines reacted to the sound of the crash, Eddy allegedly got out of his car holding a knife and again allegedly said he was going to kill the victims, according to District Attorney Art Maillet.

When Sheriff Deputies arrived at the chaotic scene, Robbert Haines had a knife-wielding Eddy at gunpoint according to Investigator Jeff Hollowell.

Nobody was seriously injured in the incident and Eddy was arrested without incident. Bail was set at $500,000.

Inyo District Attorney Art Maillet reports that David Delios Eddy has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two felony counts of criminal threats, one count of felony vandalism, and two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence.
