After a foot chase in downtown Bishop, police arrested a suspect listed as armed and dangerous, in the parking lot of the Pizza Factory.

This arrest started with a lengthy car stop at Yaney Street Wednesday night at about 7:30, according to Bishop Police. Officers say that the suspect, 28 year old Jesse Richards out of Susanville, gave a fake name and had a loaded syringe of methamphetamine in the car.

Police detained Richards while officers searched the vehicle, but he broke free, and led officers on a foot chase through the old K-Mart parking lot. Officers report that the suspect was hiding behind a vehicle parked in the Pizza Factory parking lot. Officers deployed a TASER device and were able to arrest the suspect.

Richards was wanted on a parole violation for possession of a controlled substance for sale and had been listed as armed and dangerous.
