Bishop Police Chief Offers Reassurance on Safety of Protesters and Community During BLM Rally

City of Bishop Police Chief, Ted Stec, recognizes the concerns that some local citizens have over seeing what has been happening on the news of riots during BLM protests in other, much larger cities. Some are worried that something similar might happen here, although that is very unlikely. After all, this is Inyo County and the City of Bishop, and our area is not exactly known as a hotbed of criminality and social discord, in fact, quite the opposite! We also have excellent police departments in both Mammoth Lakes and Bishop, serving alongside the Inyo and Mono Sheriff’s departments, and the California Highway Patrol – Bishop Office.

Chief Stec offers the following statement on behalf of the men and women of the Bishop Police Department:

    Are the threats alleged by protest organizers being investigated?
