Northern Inyo Hospital passed a rigorous inspection earlier this week and was approved for licensure this morning.  The frontnihstaff doors of the new facility will open on Monday, October 15th at 6:00 am for surgery check-in.  At 7:00 am the Blood Draw Lab will be open. Please check-in with Central Registration in the front lobby of the new building. At 8:00 in-patients and their belongings will begin moving over to the new facility.  The Emergency Department will move over at 9:00 am, and patient visiting hours will commence at 10:00.

Expectant mothers arriving before 7:00 am on Monday should check-in with the old Emergency Department.  Between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:30 pm,  check-in will be in the front lobby of the new facility.  After 9:30 pm check-in will be done in the Emergency Department of the new facility.

The new entrance on West Line Street, near Home Street Middle School,  is now open.  Please feel free to park in the lot directly in front of the new building, and note that the new parking extends along the fence of the school and wraps around the back side of our Support Building.

Parking for the Emergency Department is located behind the new facility.  Please note, the four spots directly in front of the ED are reserved for Emergency Medical Service vehicles.

Parking for the Administration Building, the Imaging Center, Pioneer Medical Building, Dr. Reid, the Rural Health Clinic, Hospice of the Eastern Sierra, Bishop Family and Maternity Care Clinic, and Dr. Arndal’s clinic has not changed.

For Outpatient Services, you may choose to park near the Front Lobby of the new facility (where you will check in with Centralized Registration for services) or you may choose to park in the lot near the Outpatient Service buildings (where your treatment will be administered).

The staff at Northern Inyo Hospital have been diligently practicing in the new hospital to ensure the highest quality of healthcare to patients from the moment the doors open.  The staff is trained and proficient with the new cutting-edge equipment, and have been licensed by the state to deliver healthcare to our residents.  The Bishop Fire Department and other local agencies have also been training and familiarizing themselves with the new facility in case of an emergency.

The new family-centered facility at Northern Inyo Hospital proudly features beautiful and spacious rooms, designed to accommodate family members wanting to stay close to loved ones in our care.  The 25 inpatient rooms have beautiful furnishings, feature private restrooms, and have lovely views of the surrounding area.  Centralized Nursing Stations allow our staff to closely monitor patients at all times. The private Labor, Delivery & Recovery rooms are spacious, accommodating and are located next to our large nursery.  There are three  Surgical Theaters which utilize truly state of the art equipment and technology.  The contemporary Emergency Department has 6 treatment rooms and 1 Emergency Trauma Room (also equipped with cutting edge surgical equipment).  Northern Inyo Hospital’s staff and new facility are ready to serve the residents of this community!
