Mammoth Police report a vehicle accident that led to a felony DUI arrest. Officers say that shortly before 3:00 am Monday, they responded to a call for a traffic accident on Minaret Road below Main Lodge.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered an overturned vehicle with a large debris field. Police say that officers and Mammoth firefighters searched the area for victims but did not find anyone. Officers were later told by dispatch that two injured passengers from the accident were at Mammoth Hospital. These two passengers had minor to moderate injuries.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle was found near the Village. The driver was uninjured but had alcohol on his breath, according to police. After field sobriety tests, officers report that the driver, 27 year old Mammoth resident Brian Keith Herigstad, was arrested for DUI causing injury, which is a felony.
