More drug arrests on our highway. Mono County Sheriffs officers reported that they saw a vehicle traveling through Bridgeport over the speed limit. Officers said after searching the car, they found cocaine which they said belonged to 26 year old Jose Luque of Arizona.

At first, deputies found that the driver of the car had no valid drivers license. The man, 30 year old Jesus Sandoval of Maricopa, AZ, told the officers they could search the car. Deputies said they found, under the passenger rear seat, a plastic bag containing two bindles of a powdery white substance, identified as cocaine.

Officers determined that the cocaine belonged to the man in the back seat, Jose Luque, also of Maricopa. Both men were arrested and taken to the Mono County Jail. Mr. Sandoval was cited and released. Luque remained in custody.
