CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

2 more deaths reported in the Eastern Sierra. One each in Inyo and Mono counties.

It has always seemed too good to be true, the very low mortality rates in the Eastern Sierra through the past 6 months. The surge in Inyo County from just one death to many months later, 9 deaths as of today, largely the result of the poor decisions of a few care center employees.

Now, after as many months, Mono County has reported another death, bring their total to 2. It’s not a huge jump in mortality, but every death is sad and affects people in many ways. There will likely be more, especially as we enter the annual flu season while still in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Let’s keep our thoughts and prayers for the families of those that are dealing with this pandemic in ways most of us cannot imagine.

There was no press release from Inyo County on today’s death at the time of this posting.
