Dennis Mattinson’s Friday Weather

Weather forecaster Dennis Mattinson

FRIDAY MAY 29 2020
Bishop set a new record high yesterday at 101 degrees, for May 28th. A welcome change in our weather is likely. Low pressure spinning at 30N / 130W (for the last several days) will approach the West Coast today, near the Bay Area. This will start to push the big thermal ridge of high pressure slowly eastward and bring on a general cool down over the weekend. Along with this, you can expect an increase in mid level moisture and isolated instability this afternoon in Mammoth Lakes. Nocturnal thunderstorms are possible. Monday thru Thursday, our area will be between a warm ridge to the east and an upper trough setting up along the coast. This will increase the onshore flow and mid level moisture. So continued cooling in our area and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the Owens Valley and Mammoth Lakes then…DMATT

What’s with voting down weather reports? Never got more than one or two votes for years, now this?

Thanks Dennis, it’s nice to have an actual meteorologist and not just a parrot of NWS. Dennis and a weather band radio are all you need.
