Today the next shortwave (in a long train of shortwaves) will bring cool temperatures and precipitation to our forecast area. Snow level looks to run about 7,500 – 8,000 feet with minor accumulations. Its a slow moving system so it will not be in any hurry to exit the area. As such, more showers are possible on Thursday and Friday. Saturday thru Memorial Day, will remain unsettled, as a large persistent area of low pressure continues to reside o
ver CA / NV…DMATT
 
SHORT TERM FORECAST:
 
Owens Valley:
 
Today: 40% isolated showers. High 62 / Low 39.
Thursday: 60% showers. High 65 / Low 39.

Town of Mammoth Lakes:

Today: 40% scattered snow showers. High 40 / Low 31.
Thursday: 70% snow showers —> 50%. High 45 / Low 30.

Mono County:

Today: 40% scattered snow showers. Snow level 7,500 – 8,000 feet. High 45 – 55 / Low 27 – 37.
Thursday: 70% showers —> 50%. Snow level 8,000 feet.  High 48 – 58 / Low 27 – 37.
