Forecast: The Owens Valley, Mammoth and Mono County

A moist monsoonal flow has developed from of a strong ridge of high pressure over 4-Corners and a closed low off the SOCAL Coast. The flow between these two opposing pressure systems, will allow moisture from Baja and the Gulf of California to be drawn up into state through Sunday. Limited instability today with a better chance Saturday. Very warm temperatures will accompany this flow. Cooler temperatures next week as a trough drops onto the West Coast.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Partly to mostly sunny then partly cloudy in the evening. Highs in the upper 90s and lows in the upper 50s. Winds S 10 – 20 mph.

Saturday & Sunday: 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs the upper 90s and lows the upper 50s. Winds SW 5 – 10 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Partly sunny then mostly cloudy in the evening. 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 78 and lows 54. Winds W 5 – 15 mph.

Saturday & Sunday: 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 79 and lows 52. Winds SW 5 – 15 mph.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Becoming mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 81 – 89 and lows 46 – 56. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph G 25.

Saturday & Sunday: 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms becoming more isolated on Sunday. Highs 82 – 87 and lows 43 – 53. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
