MON JAN 07 2013
Exiting system that dropped light snow in the mountains and even a dusting here and there in Owens Valley, has moved east. Whats left is partly to mostly sunny skies and dry but cool conditions. Ridging will build in thru Wednesday. Now up near Anchorage, another low is developing and it will sag south and eventually ride up over the back of the aforementioned ridge, late Wednesday into Thursday. It will bring a chance of precipitation to our district. Of note here, this system will bring very cold arctic air with it. So even the Owens Valley has a chance of snow showers Thursday night. Ridging builds back in again on Friday and that cold air will stay, so very cold nights into the weekend.
