TUESDAY July 24, 2012

Yesterday, difluence  between a low near San Francisco and a high by San Diego, kept thunderstorms active along the Sierra Crest. Today that southern ridge will strengthen bringing a slow drying trend to our district. Yes, there still  might be a few isolated thunderstorms along the Crest today. For the rest of the week, by Wednesday another trough approaches the PACNW coast and this will cool our temperatures slightly into Friday. Then as it  moves through temps drop to just below normal for the weekend. Monsoonal moisture should remain east of our area thru the first part of next week.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Mostly sunny. Highs 95 / lows 57. Winds NE 6 – 8 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Highs 97 / lows 57. Winds SE 5 – 10 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Mostly sunny. Highs 77 / lows 53. Winds SW 5 – 10 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Highs 79 / lows 52. Winds SE 5 – 10 mph.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Sunny becoming partly cloudy. Highs 80 – 90 / lows 44 – 54. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny. Highs 83 – 93 / lows 42 – 52. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
