WEDNESDAY October 24, 2012

A slight chance of mountain snow continues today as a weak impulse rotates through N. California. After that, on Thursday, the main system shifts east over the Great Basin leaving us with temps some 5 – 10 degrees below seasonal norms. Friday we will see dry weather and gradually warming temperatures through the weekend. Cloud cover will range from MOCLR to partly cloudy as a few minor shortwaves pass overhead.

For the Owens Valley:

Today: Clearing skies. Highs 61 – 64 / lows 39 – 42. Winds NW 10 – 20 mph.

Thursday: Sunny. Highs 63 – 66 / lows 40 – 43. Winds N 5 – 10 mph.

For the Town of Mammoth Lakes:

Today: 50% chance of scattered morning showers. Highs 35 / lows 23. Winds SW 5 – 15 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Highs 43 / lows 23. Winds NE 5 – 10 mph.

For Mono County:

Today: Snow likely along the Crest. Highs 41 – 51 / lows 19 – 29. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph G 30.

Thursday: Partly cloudy. Highs 46 – 56 / lows 15 – 25. Winds NE 10 – 15 mph.
