WEDNESDAY 07-DEC -2011

Mainly clear skies day and night with quite cool temperatures prevailing under a EPAC ridge of high pressure. That ridging will continue through this week, with some moderation in temperatures as the week progresses. So, temperatures should reach seasonal norms by Saturday. By Sunday the ridge weakens a bit in response to a closed low moving into Nevada from Canada. Right now the exact track of this low is rather uncertain, so stay tuned for updates.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Mostly clear. Highs 53 and lows 19. Winds NW 5 mph.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and continued clear in the evening. Highs 54 and lows 20. Winds NW 5 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Sunny then clear at night. Highs 44 and lows 24. Winds NE 5 mph.
Thursday: Mostly sunny then mostly clear in the evening. Highs 43 and lows 22. Winds NW 5 mph.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Mostly sunny then clear at night. Highs 41 – 46 and lows 10 – 20. Winds N 5 mph.
Thursday: Mostly sunny again and clear at night. Highs 39 – 44 and lows 7  – 12. Winds NW 5 mph.
