Forecast Discussion – Thu Mar 28 2024

Mammoth gets into the active weather act later today into Thursday, from a quick hitting closed low. By Friday, both Mammoth and the Owens Valley will see wet weather. A large (by later March standards), low pressure system will sit over SOCAL (collecting moisture) then move inland late Friday into the weekend. Right now though it looks like this system may slide farther, lessening precipitation impacts in our area. Still the Sierra of Inyo and Mono County look to pick up some snowfall. Aspendell could see as much as 5 – 10 inches and Mammoth 10 – 15 inches. Along with this, Bishop could see up to 0.5 inches of rain thru the weekend. Heck even Death Valley might get a chance of showers Saturday night into Sunday…DMATT
