Dennis Mattinson’s weekend outlook

Quite a bit of thunder, lightening and isolated rain yesterday afternoon in the mountains around Lone Pine. All due to a low pressure system moving thru SOCAL. Today a continuing chance of afternoon thunderstorm activity over the mountains as that system pushes into Southern Nevada. West Coast ridge remains offshore this weekend, so mild temperatures will prevail. It shifts inland on Monday then gets flattened by a rather strong and moisture laden system that will nose its way into the PACNW. Right now its too far north for any measurable precipitation and we will be under the influence of that flat ridge. Probably will have some gusty winds in Mono County Tuesday afternoon and evening. Otherwise dry and stable conditions as the work week progresses.
