A former Crowley Lake resident has been charged with embezzlement from a local business. Mono Deputy District Attorney Kyle Graham reports that Peggy Henderson has been charged with one count of embezzlement from Bills Appliances. Between February of 2006 and February of 2008, Henderson is alleged to have embezzled a significant amount of money from the local appliance store.

Henderson had been a resident of Crowley Lake, but has since moved to Apple Valley, Graham report Patrick Colby has been sentenced to state prison after two serious assaults at the Village in Mammoth, one in August of 2006, the other in September of 2007. Graham reports that Colby pleaded no contest to two charges of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury. As a result, Colby was sentenced to three years in state prison. Both charges will count as strikes, Graham explained, meaning that when Colby gets out of prison a third strike could lead to a prison term of 25 years to life.
