On Thursday, a 43 year old woman from Stevenson Ranch California was killed in a tragic car accident on 395. Highway Patrol Officers report that the accident occurred near Glass Creek Road, north of Mammoth. Lynn Travers was driving a Honda Civic southbound on 395, following behind another vehicle driven by her husband and son, when the civic drifted into the center divider. Officers report that Travers then over corrected to the right, crossed both southbound lanes and left the road. The Honda rotated clockwise and hit a pine tree on the drivers side of the vehicle.

Officers report that the impact with the tree caused massive trauma to the victim. Travers later died in the ambulance on the way to Mammoth.

Whether fatigue led the driver to drift into the center divider is not known.
