Fire destroyed a motor home, outbuilding and damaged a modular home on the 2000 Block of Taboose Lane.  Bishop Fire Department was notified of a fully engulfed trailer fire at 6:35 AM.  Arriving units found a Winnebago and outbuilding fully engulfed and extending into an occupied mobile home.

Personnel from the Bishop Fire Department, CAL FIRE, Big Pine Fire, and the Inyo County Sheriffs Department worked to control the fire.  Three people were displaced and personnel from the Bishop Paiute Tribe Housing office are working with the occupants to find housing and rebuilding solutions.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Bishop Fire Department would like to remind our community that winter is around the corner.  Fireplaces and heating units are a significant cause of home fires.  Please have your furnaces serviced, clean your chimneys, and dispose of ashes in a metal container until they are cold.
