ICARE’s 17th annual fundraising dinner on Saturday, April 13, was attended by about 700 animal lovers. Attendees enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Whiskey Creek, sponsored by Union Bank of California, Sierra Wave Media and DWP. The meal was served by the hardworking 4-H members. It was an exciting evening with a live auction led by former local legend, John Dailey. Live auction items made $7,825 and the silent auction items brought in $9,214. Raffle tickets were sold for a dog-themed quilt and a cat-themed quilt made and donated by the Quilters in Stitches and raised $885. Stan Smith and his unstoppable 50/50 crew raised $6,489. The lucky winner, Bob Lamia of Big Pine, walked away with $3,244.50 in his pocket with the other half going to ICARE.

Proceeds from the fundraiser, including dinner ticket sales, totaled $30,000, which is going directly to the New Animal Shelter Fund! That brings the Fund tally up to $305,000. We still need an additional $445,00 to reach our goal of $750,000, so donations are always welcome!

The ICARE Board extends a very sincere thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters. We really are blessed to live in such a generous and caring community!  For photos of the festivities, visit our web site www.ICAREforPets.org
