In a case handled by the State Attorney General’s office, Inyo Court sentenced the girlfriend and sister of murder suspect Louis Leplat to one year in county jail, each.

Leplat’s girlfriend, Nchole Lomaintewa and his sister, Megan Leplat, were accused of making phone threats to blow up the Inyo County Jail unless Leplat was released. Another threat went to District Attorney Art Maillet, implying he may be shot. Since Maillet was one of the victims in the case, the Attorney General had to take over.

The Court sentenced each of the women to one year in County jail and to felony probation. They were alleged to have made threats against law enforcement, a false report of a bomb in the jail and a threat to the District Attorney.

The two women were arrested in November and will now remain in jail to serve their sentence.
