Surveillance video has once more played a key role in a Mammoth Lakes criminal case, according to police. This time, a grand theft of cash that allegedly took place at Auld Dubliner Restaurant and Bar in December. The suspect recently appeared for arraignment.

Mono District Attorney George Booth said that Rafael Roderiquez of Mammoth, an employee of Auld Dubliner at the time of theft, appeared in court January 4th for arraignment on a charge of grand theft.

Mammoth police said that officers and the restaurant general manager had reviewed surveillance video of the incident. Police said that the video showed a suspect, identified as Roderiguez, entering the manager’s office and concealing two envelopes in his pants’ pocket.

According to police, one of the envelopes contained $1,625. The other envelope contained receipts. DA Booth said Roderiguez is scheduled for a pre-hearing conference on February 1st.
