New Mammoth Lakes Police Department Facility Town Council approved lease revenue bonds and the allocation of capital funds for the purpose of constructing a new facility to house the Mammoth Lakes Police Department.

Town staff has worked with HMC Architects on the building and site design for the project, approved by the Planning and Economic Development Commission on January 13, 2016.

A building permit was approved for the project and staff conducted a bid process and received bids from two qualified contractors for the project.

On June 15, the Town Council awarded the construction contract to Gundry Partners, LP Howard CDM, and the Town is looking forward to working with them to complete this project.

This 5,300 square foot Police Station will be constructed on the McFlex parcel, a piece of land owned by the Judicial Council of California, Mono County, Mammoth Hospital, and the Town of Mammoth Lakes for municipal and civic uses.

It is anticipated the building will be closed in before winter so that work can continue inside the building during the winter. The Police Department expects to move into the new building sometime next summer.

This long awaited facility will result in enhanced functionality and, through the inclusion of a large conference room with access directly from the lobby, the opportunity for greater interaction with the public.

Thank you in advance for your participation at this memorable and exciting event.
