esorchestraChamber Music Unbound Presents The Felici Piano Trio, Eastern Sierra Chamber Orchestra & Choir and Elissa Johnston, soprano in “Festive Holiday Pops” with music by Handel, Bach and others.

On Saturday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. the performance will take place in Mammoth Lakes at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  On Sunday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m., the performance will unfold at Bishop Neighborhood Church located at 315 E South Street.

Along with the chamber orchestra, conducted by Brian Schuldt, the Eastern Sierra Community Choir under the direction of Stephanie Everson, the Bishop Strings with instructor Rebecca Hang, and the fabulous soprano, Elissa Johnston from Los Angeles, will also be performing.

Ms. Johnston has appeared in a wide range of repertory. Her orchestral engagements have included appearances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Esa-Pekka Salonen, the Atlanta Symphony, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Santa Rosa Symphony, and the San Francisco Contemporary Players.

She made her Lincoln Center debut in 1999 singing Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes with the New York City Ballet and returned to Lincoln Center in May of 2001, premiering Morgen!, a set of 10 orchestral songs by Richard Strauss choreographed by Peter Martins.

The holiday concert will include all-time favorites by George Frederick Handel  (the “Hallelujah” Chorus), Leroy Anderson, Adolphe Adam, Antonio Vivaldi, J.S. Bach, and a great variety of traditional Hanukah and Christmas music from around the world.
