Inyo County Animal Resources and Education (ICARE) would like to thank everyone who helped with the recent “Raise the Roof—a Cause for Paws” fundraising effort to construct a new Animal Shelter in Big Pine. The spaghetti dinner held on June 28th, generously sponsored by the Inyo County Rotary and Lions Clubs, raised $25,000 and allowed us to move ahead with the new Animal Shelter. ICARE recently agreed to contribute $416,000 to Inyo County which, along with the County’s contribution of $375,000, made it possible for the Board of Supervisors to award the project. The new Animal Shelter will be located adjacent to the existing facility and, thanks to the Inyo County Road Department, the building site has been prepared for local contractor, Rudolph Construction, to begin work this week.

ICARE is immensely grateful for the amazing support shown for our homeless pets. Donations are still being accepted for inclusion on the Donor Recognition Wall, which will be prominently displayed at the new Animal Shelter. For more info, visit: www.ICAREforPets.org

Thanks again to the Rotary and Lions Clubs of Inyo County for their hard work and belief in the cause for paws!
