Just in time for Halloween! Progress continues toward greater freedom in opening closed businesses, lessening regulations, and allowing more indoor and outdoor activities. What it doesn’t mean: COVID-19 has not gone away…and things can “go south” quickly. Much will depend on how responsible the public will be in adhering to follow health and safety guidelines.

Tiers

 

INYO COUNTY, CA, October 6, 2020: As of today, Inyo County will move to the Orange Tier, or moderate tier. It will be essential that everyone do their part by continuing to use face coverings, practice social distancing, and frequent hand washing.

Summary of today’s changes:

  1. Restaurants – Increase to 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer, with modifications
  2. Bars – Open outdoors with modifications, indoor alcohol may be served with food following restaurant guidelines
  3. Personal Care Services – Capacity limit lifted if modifications can be met
  4. Family Entertainment Centers (i.e. Bowling Alley) – Open for naturally distanced activities with modifications
  5. Gyms and Fitness Centers – Increase to 25% capacity with modifications, and indoor pools can open with modifications
  6. Movie Theaters – Increase to 50% capacity or two hundred people whichever is fewer, with modifications
  7. All Retail – Capacity limit lifted if modifications can be met
  8. Places of Worship – Increase to 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer, with modifications
  9. Hotels and Lodging – Fitness centers increase to 25%, and indoor pools can open with modifications
  10. Museums, Zoos and Aquariums – Increase capacity to 50% with modifications
  11. Malls, Destination Centers and Swap Meets – Capacity limit lifted if modifications can be met. Common areas are still closed.
  12. Offices – Open indoors with modifications, telework is still encouraged

Inyo County will be required to stay at this level for three weeks, and if the numbers and percent of positive cases stay low, we will move to the next level on October 27.
