Indian Wells Valley Groundwater Authority will hold a public hearing on its Groundwater
Sustainability Plan January 16 at 11 a.m. at Ridgecrest City Hall. Why do we care? The
authority’s plan includes an option to wheel water from the Los Angeles Department of Water
and Power aqueduct.
Every time this possibility has come up, we’ve questioned LADWP and gotten a denial.
There have been discussions but LADWP has agreed to nothing. Inyo’s board package includes a
definite “no way LADWP will consider wheeling water through the aqueduct and they also will
not sell water.”
More information will be available at Tuesday’s Inyo Board of Supervisors’ meeting.
