The Inyo County Board of Supervisors is accepting letters of interest from qualified individuals who want to be considered for appointment to fill the unexpired term for the Office of Inyo County Coroner.

The current term for this elected office expires on January 8, 2019. Persons interested in this opportunity should submit a letter of interest and resume to the Inyo County Personnel Office by 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015.

In order to be considered for appointment by the Inyo County Board of Supervisors, candidates must

• Be, or have the ability to become Inyo County Residents; • Must registered voter of the County, Government Code section 24001,

• Must be able to perform the duties of the Office as set out in Government Code sections 27460-27521, and as applicable Health and Safety Code sections 7050.5-7055, 7103-7104.1, 7108- 7109, 7113-7114, 102850, and 12870, and Penal Code sections 11174.3-11174.33 all in keeping with the Inyo County Code, specifically without limitation sections 2.34, 2.88.040 and 6.18.010.

The salary for the position of Coroner is set by the Board of Supervisors in the Inyo County Code, and is currently $2,081 per month, with no County benefits. In order to be considered for this position, the letters of interest, with accompanying resumes, must be in the Inyo County Personnel Department, P. O. Box 249, Independence, 93526, FAX (760) 878-0465, or hand deliver at 224 N. Edwards in Independence on or before 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015.

Public interviews are expected be scheduled during the Board of Supervisors Meeting on Tuesday, October 13th, or Tuesday, October 20th. All individuals submitting letters of interest who meet the minimum qualifications will be interviewed.

The Board of Supervisors may choose to appoint an individual to the office directly following the interviews, or at a subsequent meeting. Persons seeking appointment to the position of Coroner should recognize that, in order to continue in the position beyond the January 8, 2019 date, you will have to be elected to the Office.

MAMMOTH COMMUNITY WATER DISTRICT BOARD VACANCY

The Mammoth Community Water District (MCWD) has a vacancy on the five member board. Per California Government Code 1780, the MCWD Board has 60 days to appoint a new director or call for a special election.

At the September 03, 2015 Board of Directors meeting, the MCWD Board chose the appointment method of filling the vacancy. Background MCWD was created as a California Special District in 1957, independent of the Town of Mammoth Lakes and Mono County.

A five member Board of Directors serves at the pleasure of the District’s 8,200 residents. Appointment Process Individuals interested in being appointed to the MCWD Board of Directors need to fill out an application/questionnaire. Copies of the application/questionnaire can be obtained the following way: 1) Visiting www.mcwd.dst.ca.us and downloading the questionnaire 2) Calling or visiting the Administration Offices at 1315 Meridian Blvd.; (760) 934-2596 ext. 238). 3) Emailing Patrick Hayes, Secretary to the Board, at [email protected]

Applications/questionnaires received late will not be accepted. MCWD will not be responsible for delays due to mail delivery. Prospective appointees will be contacted to schedule an interview by an Ad Hoc Committee of the MCWD Board of Directors. Interviews will take place in the Board Room at the Mammoth Community Water District (1315 Meridian Blvd., Mammoth Lakes).

The MCWD Board of Directors is scheduled to make the appointment at the October 15, 2015 Board of Directors special meeting. The appointed Board member will serve until the general election in November, 2016.

The appointed Board member may then put his/her name on the November, 2016 general election ballot. Serving on the board will require a commitment to attend monthly Board Meetings the third Thursday of each month (holiday schedules may apply) and Committee Meetings.

• Sexual Harassment Training, per CA AB1825
