1926 – 2018

Juanella was born September 12, 1926 in Memphis, Texas to Emmett and Lena Evans Juanella was the seventh child of eleven She passed away after a long illness at Northern Inyo Hospital, Friday May 4.

The family moved from Texas to Los Angeles in 1941 Juanella met and married the father of her two girls, Janette Susanne Moore and Edith Michell Weigle.

Juanella started to study metaphysics after the daughter’s birth; culminating in becoming the assistant minister at the Huntington Park First Church of Religious Science. After the passing of her teacher, Dr. Anita Schofield, Juanella was ordained as Pastor in 1966.

Hundreds of students took her classes. She was an avid writer for such publications as Creative Thought and The International New Thought Quarterly.  One of those students became her husband partner for the next forty six years.

Juanella’s dream was to open a day school for the community’s children. She studied at the Santa Monica Montessori School. She became a director of education and opened the Good Day School in Huntington Park.

Juanella and her husband moved to Big Pine in 1999 where he was a field operations manager on the dust mitigation effort on Owens Lake. Juanella split her time between the Inglewood Religious Science Church and the Bishop Church of Religious Science where she was Minister/ practitioner.

Juanella is survived by her husband, Walt, her grandson, Tony.and her daughter, Edee of Montana Step-son Daniel Sharer of San Diego, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
