More than a year ago, a man named Kevin Green came to town in Mammoth Lakes. Green started with promises to buy many major slices of Main St. real estate and ended with anmono_county_jail.jpg arrest warrant for passing bad checks and defrauding individuals.

According to sources, Green had flown out of the country for a family wedding and on his return to Atlanta, Georgia, faced authorities who found the arrest warrants from Mono County.

Local authorities arranged for extradition of Green who was transferred to the Mono County jail in Bridgeport. At last word, he had not posted bail and remained in local jail.

In 2006 and 2007, Green made aggressive moves to buy four major Mammoth Lakes restaurants Bergers, Slocums, Gomezs and Grumpys.

As restaurant owners threw up their hands when escrows fell through, investigations revealed Greens problems with the Alcohol Beverage Control Board and the transfer of restaurant liquor licenses, plus lawsuits filed in Southern California courts. The suits alleged that Green had mishandled money and refused to turn over accounting records.

A $100,000 arrest warrant was issued against Green, alleging that Green had paid local people for management services with bad checks. He then failed to appear in court. That’s when the arrest warrant was issued.l

Green was arraigned in Mono County Court on Thursday, August 7th, and now awaits further hearing.
